A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so that something can be remembered between requests: that you are logged in, what is in a basket, which analytics session you belong to. This site has no login, no basket and no analytics, so it has nothing to remember about you and stores nothing to remember it with.

That also means no consent banner. Banners exist because most sites need permission to set non-essential cookies before you have agreed to anything. With no such cookies to set, a banner here would be a piece of theatre that made the site worse to use and told you nothing true.

What the site does not run

• No advertising or remarketing tags, and no data sold or passed to an ad network.
• No social media embeds, share widgets or comment systems, all of which set third-party cookies.
• No fonts, scripts or stylesheets loaded from someone else’s server. Everything the pages need is served from this domain.
• No local storage or session storage used to identify you.

The one cookie you might still get

The pages are delivered through a content delivery network, and such a network may set a strictly technical cookie of its own to tell legitimate traffic from automated abuse and to route requests. It carries no information about you as a person, is not used for advertising, and is not readable by us in any useful sense — it belongs to the infrastructure delivering the file, not to the catalogue. Under most cookie rules this is the kind of strictly necessary cookie that does not require consent, which is the other half of why there is no banner.

Cookies on the other side of a buy button

When you follow a buy button you arrive on Amazon, and Amazon sets its own cookies under its own policy — including the one that records that you arrived through an affiliate link, which is the mechanism by which a purchase is credited to this site. Those cookies are Amazon’s, are governed by Amazon’s cookie and privacy notices, and are outside our control.

The buy buttons on this site are buttons rather than plain links, and the destination is assembled by the page’s own script when you click. Nothing about you is collected in the process; the button simply builds the Amazon address it opens. The affiliate identifier it carries, homestyles0a9-20, names the site and not the visitor. What the site receives in return is aggregate: counts of clicks and orders, never identities.

Blocking cookies

Every browser lets you refuse or delete cookies, and blocking them will not break this site — nothing here depends on one. If you block them at the delivery-network level you may occasionally meet a security check before a page loads, which is the network doing its job rather than a fault.
